Hi!!!

I realized that I have kind of announced this on our Facebook page, but haven’t mentioned it here- we have some news- unfortunately, we aren’t taking on any more weddings at the moment.  🙁  Boooooo!!!  We love love love photographing weddings, but we just don’t have as much time to focus on them as we would like.  We have a wedding this fall and one next summer and we are fully committed to those and are so super excited for them, but we just are taking a break from new bookings.  Hopefully it’s not too long of a break, but things are just crazy right now with both of us having 2 kids and working other jobs and being gone a lot on weekends!

However, in other news, I am branching out on my own for portraits!!  I have a very cool business name, too- Michelle Wotkun Photography.  Creative, right?? 😉   I’m still transitioning things, so I don’t have a full on website yet (minor details, right?!!?), but I do have my own Facebook page that will eventually get a profile picture and a cover photo lol.  I am still photographing families for the time being, but I think I may perhaps maybe sorta kinda not totally sure yet be moving away from families/young kids, and focusing on High School Seniors and Women’s Portraiture (sort of like glamour, but I need a better name so you don’t think of it as Glamour Shots :D).  Maybe.  If I can build that brand up.  Perhaps.  😀  Oh and in case I haven’t mentioned it, we live in Dyer now and our house came with a second, detached garage!  We (well mostly my husband) have been building that into a studio!!  It’s insulated and drywalled and the ceiling has been raised and drywalled, and he even put in a big window for me.  He also built up an insulated floor so we don’t need to be standing on cold concrete.  It’s heated as well :).  We still need to take off the big garage door, put in another big window or sliding glass door, and then have it all mudded and sanded, then I need to paint the walls, then we need a floor covering, but you know, it’s all a work in progress.  🙂  It’s been usable since last October and has been great!! So we have options of studio or on location sessions!
